Camille Dufour ( B, 1991, Mons) develops an approach to printmaking that combines installation and performance around monumental woodcuts. In 2017, she graduated from the Cambre ENSAV. Her graduation project, حلب صاو evokes the siege and disappearance of the city of Aleppo. In this performance, Camille Dufour prints her etchings by hand using Aleppo soap until the ink runs out. The erasure of the engraved motif by successive impressions aims to symbolically wash away the disasters of war and the overload of media images. In 2019, Camille Dufour continues her research on catharsis and prints until the ink runs out a hundred xylographs on canvas in the Claessens Canvas factory. This series, Lavandière de la nuit, which revisits the theme of the apocalypse in the era of the Anthropocene, was subsequently exhibited at the Wiels in Brussels, the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris, the Boverie in Liège, Ijsberg in Damme and the Jacob Smits Museum in Mol.

In 2020, Camille Dufour began a collaboration with Rafaël Klepfisch. The 7 Sins of Capitalism series returns to the origins of printmaking as a means of reproduction and popular communication. This urban poster project is intended for hundreds of original engravings to be completed and/or taken away by passers-by. For the BIP2020, the spectator is invited to take the prints away to display them themselves in the city of Liège, and the project will continue in 2021 at the Wallonie-Bruxelles Centre in Paris. In 2021 the duo presents Empreinte carbone, a series of one hundred woodcuts linking one hundred portraits to as many environmental issues. During the activation at the Delta in Namur, Camille Dufour and Rafaël Klepfisch printed the first twenty engravings of the series in one hundred copies in the exhibition space. The project proposes to think about climate change collectively by means of a vast epistolary correspondence. In total, ten thousand prints will be distributed by the artists to as many mailboxes in Belgium.

At ISELP, Camille Dufour addresses the depletion of non-renewable resources and presents Critical materials, four metals threatened by recent technological developments, four metal matrices printed until the ink runs out. For the exhibition PRINT&PAINT, 350 jaar bloemen op katoen at the Château d'Ursel in May 2022, Camille Dufour prints a tombstone-sized engraving by crushing flower petals on the back of the canvas until the ink runs out. Eaux anonymes is akin to a funeral rite, the matrix from which bodies buried in the sea emerge is a tribute to the thousands of drowned refugees.

Camille Dufour won the Prix de la gravure et de l'image imprimée in 2017. In 2018, she began a collaboration with the Bruthaus Gallery. She won the Prix de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles at the Médiatine in 2019. In 2020, she was awarded the VOCATIO grant and won the Biennale de l'image Possible. In 2021, she won the Triennale internationale de gravure contemporaine, the Dacos prize and the Un futur pour la culture grant. In 2022, she won the Carrefour des Arts private foundation residency.
